Design Brighton isn't just a festival, it's an urban revolution that you can support
Become a partner and join the urban revolution.
Design Brighton's annual festival is supported by a year long programme of Design Brighton Partner events designed to keep up the momentum and provide an ongoing forum for planning, regeneration and design and construction issues that both provide opportunities and affect the region’s community.
This is an opportunity to network with an informed, engaged and affluent community at a momentous point in the city’s history. The opportunities for development are well accepted but countered by the demands of a community that is rightfully, determined to retain the character and diversity of the region.
This participation by all players ensures that ideas, products and methodology are given an unrivalled platform and often given positive support that is in the vanguard of more widespread acceptance and adoption.
Formed via a collaboration between Architecture Director Nick Stickland and Interiors Director Caroline Wright (formally Niche interiors)
Stickland Wright is a collaborative Architecture and Interior Design studio based in Brighton, working on hospitality & leisure, commercial developments and private owner architectural and interiors projects.
Our driving vision is to ensure all of our projects are inspired and created through informed design. We make it our business to understand the changing habits of how we live and how design can inspire and positively impact upon our lives.
Whether the brief is for a bespoke architectural commission or a commercial interior, our knowledge and insight ensure the final design responds to, and engages with, the end user.
As a collaborative and well-connected studio, we have the skills to make your project a reality from inception through to completion. We call it the design thread, and it ensures that the knowledge and passion that defined the origin of the design process remains intact all the way through to realisation within the finished build.

Alistair Fleming Design
Alistair Fleming has been designing, making and installing bespoke kitchens and fitted furniture since 1982. The company offers clients a collaborative design service, the chance to visit the workshop during manufacture and a non-intrusive installation that gets finished seamlessly.
The business has always been rooted in the community of Lewes, on Cliffe high street. It is part of a rich tradition of independent artisans on the street. Everything that leaves the Lewes studio is made by hand at the purpose built workshop in Plumpton. Never concerned with standardisation, Alistair has always been focused on designing furniture that reflects the character of his clients and their homes.
In February 2019 the company moved into a new showroom, where traditional, modern and fusion kitchens are on display. Each piece of furniture in the shop has subtle details that demonstrate the imagination, precision and integrity which underpins their work.
The team of designers and cabinet makers are encouraged to experiment and innovate with materials and process to surprise and inspire clients. Over the last 10 years collaborations with architects, builders and interior designers has seen Alistair Fleming produce work that is more considered, environmentally conscious and in tune with its surroundings.
“We are delighted to become part of Design Brighton. It feels like a platform for developing world class solutions to the problems and opportunities the City is facing. I see a real value of developing a pallet of materials and a conversation around how we design living spaces for now and the future. There is a lot to do, and we are ready.” Dougal Fleming.

Brighton and Hove Community Land Trust
Brighton & Hove Community Land Trust (BHCLT) is a membership organisation made up of local people who are concerned about the housing crisis and want to make constructive steps to end it. We want to make housing and land in the city genuinely affordable for now and future generations.
We host Brighton & Hove’s Community-Led Housing Enabler Hub which supports groups of local people to set up community-led housing projects, including co-operatives, cohousing and community self-build schemes. This helps bring more affordable housing to the city and keep community engagement and consent at the centre of development.
Community-led housing involves a group of people coming together to develop a project, leading the way through the whole process, or taking an active involvement in making it happen and managing the resulting homes.
There are many other ways to get involved in BHCLT, including:
- Volunteering at events or other BHCLT activities, or lending your professional skills
- Taking part in the decision making of BHCLT through our meetings
- Investing money to help make a community-led housing project happen
- Making use of our online resources and coming to events to learn more about community-led housing and land development

We want to make it easier for consultants and freelancers in the industry to be able to bid for large projects as a full-service business, whilst still maintaining their independence as consultants. We’ve already got some exciting ideas on how we’ll do this and we’re working with our members to define this as we grow.
Members of The Property Quarter have access to an online community where they can discuss ideas and get support from others in the industry. This includes the Tender Portal, where our growing network of developers can list their jobs and tenders, for members to apply for.
As well as the online community, members can also make use of The Property Quarter Workspace. Based at The Brighton Office Campus, members benefit from access to big company facilities without the overheads; including meeting rooms, video conferencing tech, large format A0 printing and private phone booths.
